EPDM, one of the commonly used materials for custom rubber profiles, has good advantage for water resistance, weather resistance, ozone resistance and chemical resistance, especially in the field of door and window seals and automotive industry is widely used.

EPDM Molding Process

1. making epdm compression molding

Making EPDM rubber molding is the first step to produce shaped rubber parts. The 2D and 3D drawings and product specifications provided by customers are used to design the molding, initially process the molds, and after precision grinding and other processes, the rubber molds that meet the requirements are finally formed.

2. Rubber material preparation

The selected rubber materials are subjected to pretreatment processes such as mixing and rubber making to achieve optimum plasticity and molding properties, and to prepare for the subsequent molding process.

3. epdm injection molding

The pre-treated EPDM rubber material is put into the mold and molded by hot pressing process to ensure that the product meets the design requirements in terms of size and shape.

4. Post-processing for epdm molded parts

After epdm rubber compression molding, the shaped EPDM molded parts need to undergo a series of post-treatment operations, such as deburring, grinding, and gluing, etc., in order to make their surfaces smooth and conform to the appearance and functional requirements.

5. Quality inspection and packaging

Quality inspection is carried out on the shaped rubber parts after molding, such as appearance inspection, size measurement, physical property test, etc., and then packaging is carried out to ensure the quality and dimensional accuracy of the EPDM products.
