Introducing Smart Remote, a new small standalone device developed by an Indian design studio.  It has been developed with the idea that the set-top box can be controlled from a smartphone, or control other IR-controlled appliances. This is turning the phone into a smart remote with voice control, content recommendations, and advanced search capabilities.

The triangular housing is a special presence in today's prevalent square products, forming a distinctive feature of smart controllers and one of the challenges of mass-producing injection-molded parts.

After communicating from multiple perspectives, the design was optimized for cost and ease of mass manufacturing and assembly.

In order to find a material with infrared transparency, scratch resistance, and robustness, engineers and developers explored many options and found the best blend of plastics.
